Matías N. Provvidenti is an Argentine chef based in the Balearic Islands, he started his passion in the kitchen from a very young age completing his high school with the specialty of food industries. When he finished his studies at high school he continued with his passion for cooking by doing a career in gastronomy and high cuisine in his country of origin, also obtaining a recognized master's degree in liquid nitrogen applied to cooking.

To continue his training, he moved to Barcelona where he has worked hand in hand with renowned Michelin-starred chefs while also working with renowned professionals dedicated to culinary styling, which allowed him to give his dishes an extraordinary style.

His spirit (nomadic in a certain way) led him to tour countless countries discovering and entering the cuisine of the different regions he visited, thus allowing him to acquire a unique culinary knowledge.

Years later, he moved to the island of Mallorca to apply all his knowledge in the opening of the restaurant “La despensa del Barón” (Hotel Posada Terra Santa) where he became known and obtained several awards, such as the recommendation in the Michelin guide, #1 in Palma restaurant at the TripAdvisor guide, recommendation in the newspaper "The London Times" among others.

In parallel, he began to collaborate with the association of chefs based in the Balearic Islands (ASCAIB) where, in addition to being a member of that entity, he was able to contribute his knowledge in different events by giving gastronomic courses, show cookings, social campaigns, etc. In addition to having collaborated as a jury in the national gastronomy contest in 2019.

4 years later, he decided to open his own restaurant in Puerto Adriano, later transferring his concept to the old town of Palma with his restaurant Shaka, where he sought to merge all his experience acquired in the different corners of the planet.

In the month of November 2019 he opens his second restaurant “Maleva” where he applies the gastronomy of his roots.
